About the organisation
Securitas is the world’s leading security services provider, with 345,000 employees operating across 47 markets and more than 1,300 branch offices. Organised into three main regions—North America, Europe, and Ibero-America—plus the AMEA division, Securitas delivers everything from security operations to customer services.
The company invests heavily in training, from SIA licence courses and first aid to apprenticeships, mentoring, and specialist development. While their LMS was already accessible to all employees, most training was compliance-based, leaving fewer opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The challenge
From compliance to engagement
Before GoodHabitz, Securitas’ LMS was focused on mandatory qualifications such as SIA licenses and First Aid. Most training was delivered face-to-face or virtually, which limited interaction and kept engagement low.
Usage also varied across the workforce. Office staff engaged more frequently due to reliable internet access, while frontline security officers faced barriers such as limited connectivity. With no external providers linked to the LMS, learning was restricted to in-house content.
Securitas needed to broaden access, increase engagement, and provide more flexible opportunities for all employees to develop.
The solution
An interactive LMS with GoodHabitz content
GoodHabitz offered more than 150 courses on topics such as personal effectiveness, leadership, and communication. Initially, the courses were drip-fed into the LMS with limited promotion, managed by the IT team.
That changed with the creation of a dedicated LMS Content Creator role. Under this new approach, the team introduced GoodHabitz more strategically.
“After all 100+ courses were uploaded into the LMS we first decided which courses would be made ‘mandatory’ to help the users get familiar and peak their interest in GoodHabitz content.”
Tommy-Lee Gale, LMS Content Creator, Securitas
Key steps included:
- Adding the Safety First course to the mandatory Bronze programme for new employees.
- Expanding into Silver and Gold programmes following positive feedback.
- Promoting courses through the Workplace group and the Stay Connected newsletter.
These initiatives created a more interactive LMS and sparked a steady rise in participation month after month.
“GoodHabitz has helped us create a more interactive LMS and a larger number of users month of month accessing the courses.”
