About the organisation

Dunamare Onderwijsgroep is a secondary school group in the Netherlands with 22 schools and 1,800 employees. To keep up with the changing demands of education, the group is committed to the continuous development of its workforce. The internal academy plays a key role in this, but the pandemic forced a complete rethink of their classroom-first approach. Anouk, who works at the internal academy, explains how GoodHabitz helped them build a flexible and personalised learning environment, fully integrated into their existing systems.

The challenge

From classroom to online, without losing visibility or the personal touch.

Before the pandemic, Dunamare’s academy was focused almost entirely on classroom training. These sessions were valuable for meeting and exchanging knowledge across schools, but lockdowns made this approach impossible. Anouk and her team needed to switch quickly.

They identified four key challenges:

  • Online visibility: a platform to present all training opportunities digitally.
  • Soft skills: more focus on personal development and teacher vitality.
  • Integration: an online solution within the existing LMS.
  • Flexibility: a central “store” for all training, where GoodHabitz would be one part of the bigger picture.

The solution

GoodHabitz as a flexible building block in a personalised learning environment.

Working with internet agency I-Pulse, Dunamare developed a website where employees could easily register for courses. GoodHabitz was seamlessly integrated into the platform, while Dunamare’s own identity remained front and centre.

The benefits of GoodHabitz for Dunamare:

  • Flexibility: Anouk could integrate GoodHabitz training into the programme as she saw fit.
  • Relevance: Content aligned with existing frameworks, such as the Professional Image for the Teacher, while supporting personal development and vitality.
  • Integration: Linking to the AFAS CRM ensured smooth registration and avoided the need for new systems.
  • Preparation: GoodHabitz courses also served as pre-work for classroom sessions, for example in areas like AI literacy.
“The learning content of GoodHabitz fits perfectly within the theoretical framework of education.” Anouk, Internal Academy Coordinator, Dunamare Education Group

Program spotlight: My Academy

Alongside the website, Dunamare launched My Academy, a personalised learning environment with Single Sign-On (SSO). Employees receive their own digital academy booklet with suggested trainings tailored to job profile, years of service, and previous courses.

The advantages of My Academy:

  • Personalisation: recommendations based on role, experience, and training history.
  • Data-driven: CRM data helps fine-tune offerings to match the needs of schools.
  • Ease of use: SSO access makes it simple for employees to log in anytime.
  • Management view: “My Team” and “My School” dashboards give managers insight into development at a group level.
  • Campaign-oriented: Dunamare can spotlight priority trainings to increase participation.

Results and future plans

Thanks to GoodHabitz and My Academy, Dunamare can now offer employees a wide range of development opportunities.

“The freedom that GoodHabitz gives me to do what I want is a big plus for me,” says Anouk. The mix of online and classroom training, adapted to individual needs, has created an effective and attractive learning environment.

Conclusion

The Dunamare case shows how GoodHabitz supports the creation of a flexible and personalised learning environment. By integrating GoodHabitz into their existing systems, Dunamare found an engaging and effective way to keep 1,800 employees developing — which ultimately benefits the 13,000 students they teach every day.
