About the organisation
Deloitte is a global professional services firm with offices worldwide. This story focuses on the Business Support & Operations (BS&O) department in Rotterdam, which includes 350 employees across various roles. In a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly, the team wanted to make personal development more proactive, consistent, and easier to get started.
The challenge
Helping employees take the first step toward personal development.
With constant innovation and change, employees at Deloitte need to keep learning to stay future-ready. But knowing where to start isn’t always easy.
Junior employees, in particular, found it hard to get going. Many weren’t sure what direction to take or how to talk about development in their teams. The L&D team needed a way to make learning feel accessible, relevant, and engaging.
They were looking for an easy entry point. Something that could break the ice, lower the threshold, and spark real conversations across the department.
The solution
Self-insight as the starting point for learning.
“GoodHabitz’s assessments are an excellent foundation for every professional. Quick to complete, positive, and accessible. Afterward, you’ll receive a selection of courses that match your needs and talents. This allows you to work much more targeted on your personal development.” Paulien Klinkenberg, Learning Coordinator, Deloitte
Deloitte introduced GoodHabitz assessments to give employees an easy way to understand their strengths, preferences, and development needs. Each assessment takes just a few minutes to complete. Afterwards, employees get a personalised list of relevant online courses tailored to their results.
This makes getting started simple. It’s not about choosing from hundreds of courses. It’s about seeing what fits you and your goals.
The BS&O department also introduced WorkOuts. These are ready-made team sessions that help employees reflect on their results together and set goals. The sessions are relaxed, practical, and designed to make development feel natural.
Learner spotlight: Enya’s story

Enya Bos, Junior Executive Assistant, started her development journey by reflecting on how she works with others.
My first step was to reflect on my own communication skills, and that of my teammates. The assessment Communication Style – What Is Your Colour? helped me to better understand the different approaches. During meetings, things can get mixed up and even clash.
Being aware of the differences and each other’s styles really helps in creating mutual understanding and improved teamwork. One colleague, for example, gave an overview of our team based on the assessment. Being aware of this and mapping it out in such a pleasant way really helped me to adapt my communication more easily.
With teammates from all over the world, strong communication was essential. Enya’s next step was to build up her language skills with the course Speak Business English.
I apply the skills I acquired daily in my work, and they’re important for my everyday tasks. The course presents many relevant examples, such as sentence structure and the right language to use in a presentation. I continuously check the tips and examples from this course to push my calls, emails, or presentations to a higher level. The course is set up in an inviting, accessible, and fun way, which motivates me to breeze through it.
Enya’s story shows how self-insight and learning go hand in hand, and how personal development can lead to stronger teamwork and performance in daily tasks.
Results and future plans
With assessments and personalised learning paths in place, employees are taking more ownership of their development.

Conclusion
Deloitte shows how self-insight can open the door to meaningful development. With quick assessments, personalised content, and team-based follow-up, they created a learning culture that works for everyone. Growth is no longer something employees need to figure out on their own. It starts with a few minutes and leads to long-term impact.
